Removal Defense

Newcomb Immigration helps keep families together by defending clients in removal or deportation proceedings. Various defenses exist for people who find themselves in front of an immigration judge after years of living and working in the United States. Meet with our experienced staff to discuss options for both detained and non-detained respondents.

Asylum

Newcomb Immigration offers initial asylum, both affirmatively before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (U.S.C.I.S.) or before an immigration judge in the Executive Office of Immigration Review (E.O.I.R.). Asylum cases are complex and require experienced and skilled attorneys in order to prevail. Newcomb immigration is able to fight for your case at every appellate level.

U and T Visas

U and T visas are an important tool for victims of crimes (U visa) and human trafficking (T visa). Newcomb immigration has experience submitting hundreds of these applications successfully. We provide full scope strategic visa applications to maximize the applicant’s chances for success. If you or a family member has been the victim of a crime, reach out to schedule a consultation.

Advance Parole

Advance parole is a critical tool that allows people with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Temporary Protected Status (TPS), and people in the process of an Adjustment of Status to obtain permission to exit and re-enter the United States lawfully. While Adjustment of Status Applicants and TPS holders have an unlimited right to apply for this benefit, DACA holders must show an educational, professional, or humanitarian purpose for their travel. Exiting and re-entering the United States provides important immigration benefits and protections.

Family Petitions

United States citizens, and in most cases Lawful Permanent Residents (green card holders or LPRs) can petition relatives living in foreign countries to enter the United States legally as residents. In many cases people can petition relatives who are currently in the United States with no lawful status.

Adjustments of Status

Adjustment of status is a method for applicants to become green card holders or Lawful permanent residents. This can be accomplished through various means, including after a successful U visa application or family petition. The experienced staff at Newcomb Immigration can provide a thorough consultation to see what kind of adjustment of status.

Work Permits

The work permit is an essential immigration benefit that allows applicants to work lawfully in the United States and also obtain a Social Security number for the purpose of setting up a bank account and paying taxes. Recently, most work permits have been extended from needing to renew every 2 years to lasting for 5 years. Schedule a consultation to see if you may qualify today

Waivers

Waivers, also known as pardons or “perdones” exist for applicants who have one or more grounds of inadmissibility. Even when applicants have events in their past that make them inadmissible, in many cases they case seek a waiver in order to continue their immigration applications. Waivers can cure problems related to immigration detentions, prior immigration fraud, criminal history, and unlawful presence time in the United States.

Consular Processing

Consular Processing is the final stage for many applicants for lawful permanent residence. In some cases, applicants for residence need to return to their consulate general of their current country of nationality. For applicants from Mexico for example, this means returning to Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Our office assists with performing this online application, presenting all necessary forms and documents, setting up clients in a secure hotel, and arranging their fingerprint, medical, and interview appointments.
